Course Introduction:
This associate degree of Guidance and Counselling Psychology is a 2 year programme which imparts the fundamental knowledge in the field of guidance and counselling psychology.

It equips students with the essential knowledge, philosophy and skills for responsible practice in this caring profession.

The programme covers both theoretical and practical training of guidance and counselling psychology. The theoretical training includes all the major psychology and counselling theories. Learning of these major theories help students to understand more about the development of guidance and counselling psychology. Students are also being exposed to the similarities and differences between these theories.

The practical training in this course promotes human based and experiential training; students are encouraged to participate in role playing, classroom demonstrations and active group discussions to further strengthen their learning.

The objective of this course is to promote counselling education and provide counselling psychology training to train more local counselors.

With the emphasis on both theory and practice, graduates are expected to practice with competence and be able to work ethically and professionally.

Career Prospects:
Graduates of this course may find employment in work related to counselling, social work, or human resource management either in the corporate sector or non-profit organizations such as community service centers, learning institutions or counselling centers.

They can also choose to further their studies abroad in any of our partner universities. With a bachelor degree in counselling they may choose to apply for counselor registration and widen their career path.
