Course: Diploma in Accounting (KA 9291)

Course Introduction:

This is a brand new diploma course. It was designed to meet the consistent huge demand for accounting professionals, especially by local small and medium industry which forms the majority of Malaysian companies.

The emphasis is to equip students to handle a full set of accounts, have some basic auditing and taxation knowledge, learn computerized accounting and other related knowledge.

This course is conducted in simple English. All our lecturers are properly qualified and with industry experiences.

The assessment method is a combination of continuous assessment and practical learning. Hands-on learning and projects are common in many subjects.

After obtaining this internal Diploma in Accounting, students can also apply to sit for LCCI Group Diploma in Accounting level 2 or 3 examination. Graduates can also apply for articulation into University of Gloucestershire year 2 B.Sc. (Hons.) Accounting and Finance programme conducted in this college.

Career Prospects:

The learning is relevant to employers’ needs and hence upon graduation, students should be able to find a job easily as there are many vacancies advertised daily. Many firms seek Chinese female accounting staff whom are conversant in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. There are also many overseas employment opportunities in Middle East, China, Singapore and U.K.

After few years of working, graduates are encouraged to pursue a professional qualification with bodies such as ACCA, CIMA or MIA in order to progress in their accounting career.
