奖学金和免息贷学金：
据学术表现与经济需要，本院特设三百份各类奖学金，以落实本院对促进国民团结
及多元文化主义的承诺：

1. 新生奖学金申请者：
学费全免或半免。申请资格：

• 高中统考证书或技职科统考证书至少5科B3、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少3科B、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）至少5科1A

2. 免息贷学金申请者
全贷或半贷免息贷学金。全贷数额每年RM5000，半贷RM2500。申请资格：

• 高中统考证书／技职科统考证书5科积分20分或以下、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少2科B、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）至少4科A。

3. 学优生奖学金
学、杂、宿舍费全免。申请资格:

• 高中统考至少8科A、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少3科A及1科C、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）至少10科A（其中至少6科1A）。

4. 保送生奖学金（须由学校推荐）：
学费全免。申请资格：

• 高三成绩列同组全级前5名，年总成绩平均达至少65分，且统考成绩经学院审核达各科系学士班或大学先修班录取标准者、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少2科A及2科C、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）成绩至少8科A（其中至少5科1A）；

5. 多元文化奖学金（非华裔马来西亚公民）：
学费全免。申请资格：

• 高中统考整体成绩须经学院审核，且达各科系录取标准、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少2科及格、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）至少5科优等。

6. 东马学生保留奖学金（只限砂拉越或沙巴学生，须由砂拉越或沙巴董联会推荐）：
学费全免。申请资格：

• 高中统考或技职科统考至少5科B3、
• 大马高级教育文凭（STPM）至少3科B、
• 大马教育文凭（SPM）至少5科1A。

7. 紧急援助贷款
每人每年只能申请一次，还清后可再提出申请，每次贷款额最高为RM2000。申请资格：

• 凡在籍学生有经济困难，一时不能解决而需紧急援助者。

8. 院外奖贷学金
本院可协助学生申请有关单位提供的奖、贷、助学金，如：周瑞标奖学金、马六甲泉州开元慈儿院福利委员会助学金、吉隆坡仙四师爷庙奖学金、李氏基金、胡曰皆教育基金、隆雪中华工商总会贷学金等。

9. 毕业生出国升学免息贷学金
供持有本院毕业文凭且获得国外大学录取修读学位课程者申请。申请资格：

• 品学兼优/有领导能力和表现/有理想抱负者；
• 最高贷款额为RM20,000。

10. 国外姐妹校奖学金
本院国外姐妹院校提供数十份各类奖学金保留名额予本院毕业生。

11.申请美术与设计系的学生须具有优异的美术科成绩并获美术科老师 具函推荐，且对
美术有浓厚兴趣。

特别声明：
除学业成绩外，课外活动表现及家境情况亦是考虑因素。
以上申请者需品学兼优，提供家境清寒或有需要资助之证明文件。
受惠同学须参与“回馈服务”。

申请日期：(i) 由即日起至2007年12月31日截止。（1月份入学）
               (ii) 由即日起至2008年03月22日截止。（4月份入学）
               (iii) 由即日起至2008年07月19日截止。（8月份入学）

• 金额：奖学金学费全免或半免；贷学金RM 5,000 — RM 15,000
• 年限：1 —３年

SCHOLARSHIPS and INTEREST-FREE LOANS
New Era College offers 300 scholarships of various categories based on merit, need and our commitment to national integration and multiculturalism.

1. New Students Scholarships
    Full or half scholarships are available to:

• UEC or UEC/V holders with at least 5 B3s
• STPM holders with at least 3 Bs
• SPM holders with at least 5 A1s.

2. Interest-Free Loans:
     Interest-free full loans amounting to RM 5000 per year or half loans of RM 2500 per year
     are available to:

• UEC or UEC/V holders with total credits within 20 aggregate points for the best 5 subjects
• STPM holders with at least 2 Bs
• SPM holders with at least 4 As.

3. Excellent Students Full Scholarships (These full scholarships covering
    tuition, miscellaneous fees as well as hostel fee):

• UEC or UEC/V holders with at least 8 As
• STPM holders with at least 3 As and 1 C
• SPM holders with at least 10 As (include 6 A1s)

4. School- sponsored Students Scholarship:

• UEC: Top five students in the school, with average of at least 65% in their senior 3 assessment and who have obtained an offer in any of our associate degree, pre-university or diploma (Drama & Visuals) courses..
• STPM holders with at least 2 As and 2 Cs.
• SPM holders with at least 8 As (including 5 A1s)

5. Multi-Cultural Scholarships (Non Chinese Malaysian citizens):

• UEC holders who have obtained an offer in any of our courses,
• STPM holders with at least 2 Cs
• SPM holders with at least 5 1As

6. East Malaysian Students Scholarships (Sabah and Sarawak students,     recommend by the Sarawak /Sabah United Association of Private Chinese
    Secondary School Management Board)：

• UEC holders with at least 5 B3s
• STPM holders with at least 3 Bs
• SPM holders with at least 5 1As

7. Emergency Loans
    Students with unforeseen financial problems during the course of their study are eligible to
    apply for emergency loans. Application conditions are:

• Each student can only apply once each year, reapplication is subject to full repayment of the previous loan.
• Maximum amount is RM2000

8. Other Scholarships/Loans
    A number of other categories of scholarships and loans specially awarded to New Era
    College students include the Lee Foundation, Chin Mooi Foundation and others.

9. Further Studies Loans
    Graduates of New Era College who have obtained admission into universities for further
    studies are entitled to apply for this loan. Application conditions are:

• Graduates with excellent academic performance, leadership skills and who have been active in ex-curricular activities.
• Total loan amounts to RM20000.

10. Parner Universities Scholarships
      Our partner universities have allocated scholarships specially for our graduates.

11. Art and Design applicants must excel in academic performance and provide
     a recommendation letter from teacher.

Note:

• Performance in extra-curricular activities is considered in qualification for award.
• Applicants are expected to possess excellent academic performance, to be of good character and to provide evidence to justify the need for the scholarships/loans.

All scholarships and loans beneficiaries are required to participate in the “College Service Programme”.

• Deadlines:  1. 31 December 2007 (for January intake)
                     2. 22 March 2007 (for April intake)
                     3. 19 July 2007 (for August intake)
• Amount of Awards: Full of half scholarships covering tuition fees;
  Interest-Fee Loans from RM 5,000 to RM15,000
• Duration : 1 to 3 years, subject to periodic performance assessment.
