Course Introduction
The Diploma in Early Childhood Education combines both theoretical and practical aspects designed to train early childhood educators who are caring, capable and committed.
This programme will help students acquire professional knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that will lead them to become not only qualified but also outstanding early childhood educators. Students will also be encouraged to participate actively in teaching practices and guidance during this period. The programme will in particular allow students to develop invaluable transferable skills as they gain greater knowledge of childhood education.
The core subjects of early childhood education include:
Early Childhood Psychology, Young Children Development, Infants and Toddlers Care Practice, Principles of Early Childhood Educational Practice, Professional Ethics for Early Childhood Educators, Classroom and Behaviour Management, Special Educational Needs and Learning Disabilities, Pre-school Administration and Management, and others.
Other skill-based subjects taught in the course comprise: Early Childhood Curriculum Approaches, Mathematics for Young Children, Science and Technology for Young Children, Teaching Language for Young Children, Young Children’s Literature, Art and Craft for Young Children, Music and Drama for Young Children, and Practicum.
