Institute of International Education (IIE)

The Institute of International Education (IIE) was established on 1st April 2019 as an academic-cum-administrative unit under the direct jurisdiction of the Vice-Chancellor of New Era University College (NEUC). The original departments of International Student Affairs and International Relation Office are now merged into a single entity in order to reintegrate resources and unify efforts to put a greater emphasis in international communications and international recruitment.

Centre for Instruction and Research, Centre for International Relations and Office of International Student Recruitment and Management are also being established under IIE to manage all matters regarding international academic and administrative exchange, and to manage and provide service to all international students.

  1. Centre for Instruction and Research
    Mainly responsible for:
    1. Cooperation in running programmes
      • Cooperating with other educational institutions to run programs
      • Develop and design of new programmes
      • Increase programmes that offer dual award degrees
    2. Cooperation in Research and Journal Publication
       
  2. Centre for International Relations
    Mainly responsible for:
    1. International liaisons.
    2. Appointment of visiting scholars from abroad.
    3. Offshore study programmes such as the short-term study courses in the Beijing Vocational College of Labour and Social Security and the CUHK-Malaysia Student Cultural Exchange Programme.
    4. Staff or student exchanges on an ad hoc or permanent basis.
    5. Study tours.
    6. International conferences.
    7. Joint educational projects in collaboration with Centre for Instruction and Research
       
  3. Office of International Student Recruitment and Management
    Mainly responsible for:
    1. Recruitment of international students.
    2. Aiding international students in visa application and helping them going through the procedures to enter Malaysia.
    3. Managing international students.
    4. Monitoring the performance of international students, including learning progress, academic performance, and psychological well-being.
    5. Planning and organising international cultural festivals and cross-cultural activities.
