What does youth mean to you?
At New Era University College, it's more than just academics — it's music, dance, art, and a stage to shine. That's the spirit behind Flying High!
Youth in rhythm, dreams taking flight.
Flying High is Malaysia's first campus original music album fully funded by a university. Produced by Professor Mok Soon Chong, Vice-Chancellor of New Era University College, and co-created by Associate Professor Tey Shi Bin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of (International and Corporate Development), veteran radio host Liz Tung Lai See, and Pocket Music founder Phang Hsueh Ping, the project brought together over 100 students who wrote, performed, filmed, and designed the entire album themselves.
On October 8, 2019, the album launch and listening party lit up the campus, drawing over 800 attendees. Since then, the full album has gained over 70,000 YouTube views, with the hit song Chasing the Wind topping Ai FM's "Our Songs" Chart three times.
The voices of New Era are Flying High — bold, bright, and full of dreams.

At New Era, music is in our DNA.
From personal songwriting to department anthems, from event themes to I DO Music Club performances — every melody captures the pure, heartfelt voice of our youth.
Flying High is the perfect gift for New Era's 20th anniversary. It carries our shared dream of bringing music back to campus — sparking joy, spirit, and connection across the Chinese-speaking world.
Flying High marks the start of a dream and echoes with the rhythm of youth. From our campus to the world, our student voices are soaring — landing in every heart that dares to dream.
New Era will always be the place where dreams take off.
