上世纪八十年代，马来西亚华文独中面临生存危机，吉兰丹与巴生这两所中华独中也一度陷入低谷。然而，在民间力量的推动下，两地华社不约而同掀起了复兴学校的浩荡运动，以“凭着这颗心”的信念，开启了独中重生的历史篇章。

本书以纪实文学笔法，全景式呈现这段深刻而动人的教育奋斗史。作者多年奔波吉兰丹与巴生之间，访问当事人、搜集档案、整理史料，投入大量心力，只为还原独中复兴运动最真实、最温热的现场。书中既有理性分析，也饱含情感书写，映照出草根华社为下一代守护母语教育的热诚与坚持。

复兴运动之后，两校不仅重建校园，也重塑精神面貌。吉兰丹中华独中与巴生中华独中，皆成为今日华文教育坚韧生命力的象征。

这不仅是两所学校的故事，更是整个华社如何在逆境中点燃希望、以心传承文化的集体记忆。
