Introduction to the Department of Early Childhood Education

     The Department of Early Childhood Education at New Era University College traces its roots back to the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, which was established by the Department of Education in 2010. With New Era's elevation to university college status, the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) program was launched in 2017, building upon the existing diploma curriculum. This provided a broader platform for further studies for students aspiring to delve deeper into the field of early childhood education.

     In 2025, the Department of Education at New Era University College was officially upgraded to the Faculty of Education, and the Early Childhood Education program became an independent department, the Department of Early Childhood Education at New Era University College. Since then, the Department of Early Childhood Education has not only gained a more comprehensive structure but also shouldered a more significant mission. Currently, the department offers two programs: the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and the Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Honours) degree, catering to the needs of students with diverse academic backgrounds and career development plans.
