Résumé of Speaker:
Dr. Shamuni possesses a Ph.D. from National University of Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. Her main research interests include workplace learning, competence development, job satisfaction and entrepreneurship, etc. Her major publications include skills development and job satisfaction through workplace learning in small and medium tourism enterprises in Malaysia, learning cultures among employees in the education and tourism sectors: a comparative analysis, stepping up the ladder: competence development through workplace learning among employees of small medium enterprises and other conference presentations.

Abstract:
Qualitative data refers to textual/non-numeric information such as interview transcripts, notes, video and audio recordings, images and text documents. The idea behind Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) is to examine the meaningful and symbolic content of textual/non-numeric data. It involves the identification, examination, and interpretation of patterns and themes in textual data to answer the research questions in hand. This session is intended to provide basic guide for the needed steps of QDA and will be useful for scholars, academics and researchers.
