Résumé of Speaker:

  • He has served in the field of graphic design and advertising for nine years after graduating from the Malaysia Institute of Art (MIA), and had served as Art Director. In the period of 25 years’ service in graphic design education, he holds a Master of Art of Design Professional Practice at Newcastle, Northumbria University, United Kingdom.
  • His research interests include Advertisement and Graphic Design, and black and white photography.
  • He has participated in many artwork exhibitions between 2000 and 2016, including “SOGO Summer Art Festival” Exhibition, DAD Art Exhibition 8+6, Dong Jiao Zong High School Teaching Art Exhibition, “Ceramic Artwork at Heart” Art Exhibition, “Open Show” Art Exhibition, “Art@NEC” Art Exhibition, 4th  Teacher Art Exhibition of Nationwide Chinese Independence High School and “Quiet Pride Show” Art and Design Lecturers’ Exhibition.
  • Solo Exhibition: “Black and White, Photography” Exhibition (2013) and “Black and White, Photography” Exhibition 2.0” Exhibition (2015).

Abstract:
In the production of graphic design, it is commonly noticed that there is a difference between the quality of prints from the computer and that of imaging documents. This is especially so in the difference between colour printing and computer imaging and in what is known as the “phantom” effect by the printing industry. This talk will answer these questions and to explain the application and limitations of printers and the printing process.
