Course Introduction
The Diploma in Information Technology programme offers a comprehensive 2-year curriculum designed to establish a strong foundation in the IT field. Covering a wide array of essential topics such as programming concepts, networking, database concepts, and web design, this programme equips students with vital skills crucial for success in IT careers.
A key highlight of this programme is its integration of Work-Based Learning (WBL), an approach that bridges academic learning with the industry practice. Through WBL, students not only grasp IT concepts but also acquire practical skills directly applicable to the workplace. The Diploma in Information Technology programme aims to train students to emerge as adaptable and industry-ready IT professionals, well-prepared to thrive in the rapidly evolving information technology field.
Work-Based Learning, or WBL is a method of learning on the job that entails collaboration between educational institutions and industries. This approach integrates classroom learning with real-life practice in real workplace settings. As part of this programme, students engage in a WBL placement with our industry partners during their final semester.
Upon successful completion of this Diploma programme with a CGPA of 2.5 or above and meeting the credit transfer requirements, you will be eligible to admit into Year 2 of the following degree programmes offered at New Era University College:

Minimum Entry Requirement
- Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subject (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification).
- Possess UEC with at least THREE (3) credits in any subject (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification).
- * Posses Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in IT fields.
- ** A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
- O Level / IGCSE / Other qualifications deemed equivalent by MQA.
* Subject to approval of Senate/Academic Board.
** Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the admission qualification contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.
