New Era University College (NEUC)

The Malaysian Journal of Chinese Studies is published by New Era University College, a not-for-profit institution of higher education that is set up by community support. Its vision is to provide education opportunities to all, but especially among the less privileged, classes of the community. Its mission is to promote academic excellence and to nurture competent and professional leaders who lead socially responsible lives.

Aims and Scope

The Malaysian Journal of Chinese Studies is a double blind peer-reviewed, inter-disciplinary journal that publishes articles, reviews and research notes based on the scholarly studies of contemporary Chinese societies especially in Southeast Asia and East Asia. It is an international forum for scholarship on the critical discourse on the Chinese as well as their relations with other ethnic communities at the local, national or international scales from the perspectives of the social sciences and humanities. The journal welcomes contributions based on empirical, comparative or theoretical research and that are of interest to a wide range of scholars. Submission of papers should adhere to the journal’s guidelines and format.

The journal is issued biannually in the print and electronic versions and are available at
