  • He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (Biological Science) and Teacher Training College, Johor Bahru.
  • Social participation: Former Chairman, Youth Section of Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall and a former member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (2008-2013).

Abstract:

Kajang is the capital of Ulu Langat district that is located just south of Kuala Lumpur and undergoing a rapid rate of population growth. Its urban landscape, population structure, lifestyle and social developments are representation of signs of modern urban development. This presentation will examine the transformation of Kajang through a study of its historical development. Kajang has experienced a period vigorous cultural construction in the past. Based on its past and current situations, we will assess the conditions for answering  the call to revive the cultural vigour of the town.
