Description:
Full-time Student Helpers, formerly known as “Study-Work Programme,” refer to students who are assigned a fixed workload of 40 hours per month and receive a fixed monthly allowance. At the beginning of each May semester, students may refer to announcements issued by the Vice-Chancellor’s Office regarding application opening dates. As places are limited, allocations will be made based on individual applicants’ circumstances.
Objectives:
- To encourage students to support their living expenses through work-study and cultivate a spirit of self-reliance.
- To enhance students’ knowledge, skills, and perspectives.
- To develop students’ practical abilities in handling tasks.
Eligibility:
- Current diploma or undergraduate students of New Era University College.
- Good conduct with no disciplinary records.
- Satisfactory academic performance and meeting the minimum entry requirements of their respective programs.
Implementation:
- The programme is administered and coordinated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate Development). Students are required to report to designated units as assigned.
- Students must complete 40 hours of work per month to be eligible for the monthly allowance of RM300.
- Supervising staff of each assigned unit shall ensure that students are able to balance both academic and work commitments.
- Students are encouraged to participate in university-level activities and administrative work, and shall not be involved in personal teaching or academic duties of faculty members.
- At least one aspect of the student’s work must involve understanding and participation in Eastern Mindful Peace Culture activities.
