Résumé of Speaker:
Mr. Navaratnam holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and currently pursuing his Ph.D. in City University. He was appointed as a lecturer in 2010 and teaches Creative and Critical Thinking in the Business Department. His recent research project examines the relationship between safety management practices and safety behaviour among employees in manufacturing companies. His earlier research was focused on the impact of human resource practices and organization commitment towards employee retention in selected banks, and had also presented a paper on Impact of Strategic Human Resource Management for MNCs at the Conference on Business and Management 2016.

Abstract:
How many of us have said “I am not the creative kind…”, especially when faced with tasks that require a degree of creativity. The fact of the matter is, creativity, in the business world at least, can be honed with awareness, knowledge and practice. It is a skill which can be learnt at any age. Once you have learned the prerequisites and understand how it applies to you, the next step would be to organise the thinking methodically, and then move on to the action phase. And this is precisely what this programme is going to help you do, and it will be a lesson learnt for life.
