Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy for Dong Jiao Zong Higher Learning Centre Bhd and New Era University College
- Users' Rights
Dong Jiao Zong Higher Learning Centre Bhd and New Era Edu Sdn Bhd (hereinafter called “NEUC”) provides E-mail and Internet access to students and staff as basic services. Therefore, students and staff should be responsible while using these resources. NEUC has the right to amend these policies whenever it deems necessary.
- Users' Responsibilities
- Although students and staff are allowed to use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software provided by NEUC, the use of these services and equipment is subject to our rules and guidelines.
- Users should safe-guard their user names and passwords and not reveal them to any third parties. It is advisable for them to change the password regularly or on their first access.
- Installation of unauthorized software to computers at NEUC is strictly prohibited. Once it is found or reported to install illegal software, the user or the person directly in charge of the user must be responsible for the misconduct.
- It is prohibited to copy, distribute and share all school software which are installed on NEUC’s computer equipment. It is also prohibited to install, distribute and share the privately owned software at NEUC’s computer equipment.
- Do not use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software as personal assets or for personal matters. All usage is limited to academic and administrative purposes within NEUC.
- Do not use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software as tools to hack into other computer systems.
- Do not use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software for broadcasting unsolicited personal views on social, political, religious or other non-work related matters.
- Do not use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software for transmitting, disseminating or storing any images, texts, data or programmes which are illegal, false, indecent, pornographic, obscene, defamatory, offensive, abusive, harassing, threatening and discriminatory.
- Do not use the computer equipment, electronic information services and software for posting or transmitting any commercial materials without the approval of NEUC.
- Users shall be answerable to all consequences of their non-observance of these policies.
- Users should be aware that the computer devices and network services are not necessarily protected. NEUC does not provide any encryption technology for users, thus users are advised not to send any confidential information through our network or services.
- Right to monitor
NEUC has the rights to monitor the system, including all personal files and data stored in it to ensure that all rules and guidelines are complied with. This precaution is necessary if there is a need to resolve whatever problems that may arise. The monitoring action will be carried out in accordance with our standard operating procedures.
- The consequences of violation of policies
Any violation of the ICT Policy will be treated seriously and disciplinary action may be taken. NEUC may also refer these incidents of violation to the relevant enforcement authorities.
