Dear Students :

Recently, some students consulted the Student Affairs Office about the possibility of cancelling the application system and switching to free access. Our considerations are as follow:

1. Previously there was free access, but there were no upgraded facilities and benefits as there are now.

Essentially, while students could come and go freely, very few were willing to engage in activities in the lounge.

2. The dormitories of universities in Malaysia also have reading rooms, but there have been frequent incidents of students abusing the space and monopolizing seats. Some students find that the rooms are always full , with a "first come, first served" situation, where some occupy the space for several hours, even until the next morning. After encountering obstacles several times, other students have stopped trying to use the space which they also have the right to access.

3. Given the limited space and resources, an application system is necessary to ensure fairness and to maximize

satisfaction for the majority.

Therefore, we have made the decision to implement an application system after careful consideration. Every system has its pros and cons and cannot satisfy everyone, but please trust that we have considered the "free access" proposal proposed by some students.
